- Add Bitcoin price, power draw and electricity cost.
- Review revenue, electricity cost and estimated net profit.
About the Bitcoin Mining Profitability Calculator
Actual mining results depend on network difficulty, pool fees, uptime, hardware efficiency and Bitcoin price. Treat this as a planning estimate rather than a guaranteed return.
How Bitcoin Mining Profitability Is Estimated
Mining revenue depends on hashrate, the expected Bitcoin earned per unit of hashrate, the Bitcoin price and the period being measured. Electricity cost depends on power draw, hours operated, days and your electricity rate.
This calculator subtracts estimated electricity cost from estimated revenue. It does not guarantee results because Bitcoin difficulty, block rewards, pool payouts, fees and market prices change over time.
Important Mining Costs
Electricity is usually the largest recurring cost, but a complete mining budget may also include the ASIC purchase, hosting, cooling, repairs, internet, pool fees, downtime and local taxes. Add these costs when deciding whether a machine is worthwhile.
Hardware efficiency matters because two miners with the same hashrate can use very different amounts of power. Compare joules per terahash as well as the advertised hashrate.
Mining Profitability Tips
Use a conservative BTC price, realistic uptime and a reward assumption that reflects current network conditions. Recheck the result regularly instead of relying on a calculation made months earlier.
- Use your miner manufacturer power figure at the wall when possible.
- Subtract pool fees and expected downtime from the reward assumption.
- Calculate a break even electricity rate before buying hardware.
- Include hardware payback time in your investment decision.

Bitcoin Mining Profitability Calculator FAQ
Does this include pool fees?
No. Reduce the reward input to account for pool fees and downtime.
What is the most important mining input?
Electricity price and machine efficiency are often the most important inputs because power is a recurring cost.
Does the calculator include hardware cost?
No. Add the miner purchase, hosting and maintenance costs separately when estimating payback.
What is mining difficulty?
Difficulty adjusts the work required to find Bitcoin blocks. When difficulty rises, the same hardware generally earns fewer coins.
How often should I update the calculation?
Update it whenever Bitcoin price, network difficulty, pool reward data or your electricity rate changes materially.
