Bitcoin and Ethereum update live from CoinGecko. Stock and metal prices refresh about every minute during market hours. Company and metal market caps use approximate share and ounce counts, so treat them as estimates for scale. This is a what if comparison, not a prediction or financial advice.

How to Use the Bitcoin vs Other Assets

  1. Choose an asset such as Gold, Nvidia or Apple, or type your own market cap like 10t.
  2. Read the headline price: what 1 BTC would be worth at that market cap.
  3. Check the multiple needed and the rank Bitcoin would hold among the assets.
  4. Use the ranked table to compare every asset at once, then click any row to switch the comparison.

About the Bitcoin vs Other Assets

This tool compares market cap, which is price multiplied by the supply of an asset. Bitcoin has a fixed supply cap of 21 million coins, so a bigger market cap can only come from a higher price per coin. Dividing a target market cap by the Bitcoin supply in circulation gives the implied price.

Bitcoin and Ethereum values update live from CoinGecko. Stock and metal prices refresh about every minute, and company and metal market caps use approximate share and ounce counts. Use the results to understand scale, then explore a specific coin with the coin price target calculator or compare two coins with the crypto market comparison tool.

What Does Comparing Bitcoin With Other Assets Show?

A price on its own says very little about how big an asset is. One Bitcoin costs far more than one share of most companies, but that does not make Bitcoin larger. Market cap fixes this by multiplying the price by the total supply, which puts coins, shares and metals on the same scale.

This tool takes the live market cap of any asset in the list and divides it by the number of Bitcoin in circulation. The answer is the Bitcoin price that would be needed for Bitcoin to be the same size. The multiple shows how many times today's Bitcoin market cap that is.

Bitcoin vs Gold: The Most Common Comparison

Gold is the largest store of value people compare Bitcoin with. Both are scarce, both are held outside the banking system by some investors, and Bitcoin is often called digital gold because its supply is capped at 21 million coins. The comparison above shows how large gold is in dollar terms and what Bitcoin would be worth per coin at that size.

Silver is the next step down. It is a smaller market than gold, so it makes a useful middle point between Bitcoin and the largest precious metal. You can compare it with the crypto market comparison tool if you want to see the same idea between two coins.

Bitcoin vs Big Tech and Other Large Companies

The biggest listed companies, such as Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon, are valued in the trillions of dollars. Putting Bitcoin next to them shows how a decentralised network ranks against companies that employ hundreds of thousands of people.

Company market caps move with the stock market, which is only open on weekdays, while Bitcoin trades all day every day. Bitcoin and Ethereum update live here, and stock prices refresh about every minute when markets are open.

  • Nvidia, Apple and Microsoft are the usual benchmarks for the largest companies.
  • Tesla and Meta show how Bitcoin compares with large but smaller listed companies.
  • Berkshire Hathaway and Walmart are useful mid-sized reference points.
  • Ethereum is included so you can see Bitcoin next to the second largest crypto asset.

How the Market Caps Are Calculated

Bitcoin and Ethereum use the circulating supply reported by CoinGecko multiplied by the live price. Companies use the approximate number of shares outstanding multiplied by the latest share price. Gold and silver use the approximate amount mined above ground multiplied by the live metal price.

Share counts and ounce estimates change slowly, so they are stored as fixed estimates while the prices update live. That keeps the ranking accurate for scale comparisons, but it will not match a financial data terminal to the last decimal.

Why a Market Cap Match Is Not a Prediction

The result tells you the maths of a scenario, not the likelihood of it. Reaching the size of gold or a major company would require a very large amount of new money to flow into Bitcoin, and no calculator can say whether or when that happens.

Treat the numbers as a way to understand scale and compare narratives. This page is for education only and is not financial advice. Do your own research before making any investment decision.

Bitcoin vs Other Assets FAQ

How is the implied Bitcoin price calculated?

It is the asset market cap divided by the circulating supply of Bitcoin. For example, if an asset is worth 20 trillion dollars and 20 million BTC are in circulation, the implied price is 1 million dollars per coin.

Is this a Bitcoin price prediction?

No. It is a what if comparison that shows the maths behind a market cap. It does not say Bitcoin will or will not reach any of these values, and it is not financial advice.

Where does the asset data come from?

Bitcoin and Ethereum come from CoinGecko. Stock and gold or silver prices come from public market data and refresh about every minute. Share and ounce counts are approximate.

Is Bitcoin bigger than gold?

No. Gold has a much larger market cap than Bitcoin. The tool above shows the live difference and the multiple Bitcoin would need to grow to match it.

How do I compare Bitcoin with a stock?

Compare market caps, not prices. Pick the company in the tool and it divides that market cap by the Bitcoin supply to show the matching Bitcoin price.

Why is Bitcoin called digital gold?

Bitcoin has a fixed supply of 21 million coins and is often held as a store of value, which is how gold is commonly viewed. The comparison is about those traits, and the two assets behave differently in practice.

Can I compare Bitcoin with any market cap?

Yes. Type any value in the custom field, such as 500b or 10t, and the tool shows the Bitcoin price, multiple and rank for that figure.

Does this tool give financial advice?

No. It shows factual market cap maths. It does not predict prices or recommend buying or selling any asset.
