How to Use the Crypto Market Comparison

  1. Select the first coin and the second coin.
  2. Compare the key market statistics side by side.
  3. Read the what if result: the price and multiple needed to match the other coin.
  4. Check the table of other market caps to see more targets for the first coin.

About the Crypto Market Comparison

Price alone says nothing about size. A coin priced at one cent can be worth more than a coin priced at one thousand dollars once supply is taken into account, which is why market cap is the fair way to compare projects.

The what if figure divides the second coin market cap by the first coin supply. It is a thought experiment about scale, not a forecast.

What Does a Market Cap Comparison Show?

Comparing two coins by price alone is misleading, because each coin has a different supply. A fair comparison uses market cap. This tool answers the question: what would coin A cost if it had the market cap of coin B?

The formula is: price of A at B market cap = market cap of B / circulating supply of A. The tool also shows the multiple, which is how many times the price would need to rise or fall to get there.

Popular Comparisons

These are the questions people ask most often.

  • What if Ethereum had the market cap of Bitcoin (the so called flippening)?
  • What if Solana reached the market cap of Ethereum?
  • What if XRP or Dogecoin matched the market cap of Bitcoin?
  • How does a smaller coin compare with the top 10 by market cap?

Limits of This Kind of Comparison

A comparison is a thought experiment, not a forecast. Reaching another coin’s market cap needs new money to flow in, and the coins differ in use, supply schedule and risk. Use the result to judge scale, not to predict price.

Crypto Market Comparison FAQ

What does it mean to compare market caps?

It shows which project is larger in total value and how much the smaller coin would need to grow to match the bigger one.

Is the what if price a prediction?

No. It is simple maths, and reaching it would require huge amounts of new capital and is not guaranteed.

Which coins can I compare?

Any two of the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market cap.

How do I compare two cryptocurrencies?

Choose two coins. The tool shows each market cap and the price coin A would have at the market cap of coin B, with the multiple between them.

What is the flippening?

The flippening is the idea that Ethereum could overtake Bitcoin in market cap. You can model it by comparing ETH at the market cap of BTC.

Is a comparison result a price prediction?

No. It is a scenario that shows what a price would be if a certain market cap were reached. It does not say that it will happen.
